It was a beautiful day for Sherri and Tyler's wedding, and it made the first look pictures we took at the Fort Story lighthouse all the more memorable for the couple who was doing a nautical themed wedding. Tyler couldn't keep the smile off of his face the moment he saw his beautiful bride for the first time and capturing the images at the lighthouse and along the white sand beach made it all the more magical. Following a lovely ceremony at the Chapel of the Good Shepard, where Sherri and Tyler tied a nautical rope to symbolize their love, we were able to capture more photos with the newlyweds and their families, as well as their bridesmaids and groomsmen. The groomsmen all proudly supported their favorite teams with cufflinks on their suits, and Sherri beautiful bouquet of flowers had subtle accents, such as a bow with rhinestones nestled amongst the flowers. At the Shifting Sands Beach Club in Virginia Beach, the nautical theme of the wedding came into full effect, and it was elegantly done. Guests could leave a 'message in a bottle' for the newlyweds with paper and ribbons to tie the notes provided; a compass provided directions to table seatings as well as a memorable keepsake, and the newlyweds sweetheart table was dressed with a stunning arrangement of flowers and draped in a navy blue and white tablecloth to tie in the nautical theme. The couple, both members of the military, cut the cake and spent the rest of the night mingling with their closest friends and family, about 70 people, as they danced the night away in celebration of their first day as husband and wife. Astro Entertainment As a wedding photographer, we are all looking for ways to get our images out to the public so that they may be seen. Social media plays a huge part when it comes to showcasing and advertising our photography. If you are a photographer and think that you can not benefit from social media and posting your images in every place possible, think again! This engagement session I did a few month ago in Downtown Portsmouth, Virginia for Noelle and Keith was recently published in Black Bride Magazine. Not only am I honored for the featured but amazed at how this images was picked up by the magazine. Keith had shared this image on his Instagram page and tagged Black Bride Magazine and Crystal Image Photography. Within minutes, it was picked up by Black Bride Magazine, the couple was contacted for more information about their Vintage Themed Engagement session and it was published! If you're a photographer and looking to get your name and images out there, post and publish away on social media you never know who may be looking to showcase your images.
Noelle and Keith's wedding is this New Year's Eve in Virginia Beach and I can not wait to see what awesome images you capture of these two! Click here to view the feature |

Pictures were one of my top priorities for my wedding. I spent a lot of time reading through photographers and even contacting some. I was also pretty nervous, I had never been professionally photographed before. Crystal and her team were SO easy to work with and immediately took away the nerves. I trusted her completely and I am so happy I did. Cannot recommend enough! Ellen - Yorktown VA
If you're looking for an amazing photographer who is relaxed, has experience, and knowledge look no further. Crystal took our engagement and wedding photos. Not only were her photos amazing, but she is extremely responsive to messages and will even help you when planning your big day. It was important to us to work with a photographer who has experience with same sex couples, and Crystal and Casey did a great job capturing everything for my wife and I. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. - Emily - Nellysford, VA
