James and Sarah’s wedding day at King Family Vineyards was filled with rolling hill views, warm golden light, and a relaxed energy that made the entire day feel effortless and joyful.

As a Charlottesville wedding photographer and Virginia wedding photographer, King Family is always one of my favorite venues to photograph because of its wide open landscape, vineyard paths, and beautiful mountain backdrop.

A First Look with Mountain Views

James and Sarah chose to do a first look tucked along one of the vineyard paths with the Blue Ridge Mountains stretching behind them. This quiet moment allowed them to slow down, connect, and set the tone for the rest of the day.

Their portraits right after were filled with soft light and genuine emotion — some of the most natural images from the entire wedding.

A Ceremony Surrounded by Rolling Hills

Their ceremony took place with guests seated facing the rolling hills and vineyard views. The setting was naturally beautiful and needed very little decoration — the landscape did all the work.

Just before the reception was in full swing, we stepped away for a few minutes of sunset portraits. This is always the moment couples are most thankful for. The hills glow, the vineyard softens, and everything feels calm and still.
