Next Steps After Booking

1

Confirm Details

We’ll confirm your wedding date, venue, and coverage hours. If anything changes, just message us so we can update your file.

2

Engagement Session (If Included)

Engagement sessions are where you get comfortable in front of the camera and where I learn what feels most natural for you. It makes the wedding day feel easier and more relaxed.

3

Planning + Timeline

We’ll work together to create a realistic timeline that protects the moments that matter most — portraits, family photos, and time with your guests.

4

Final Details + Questionnaire

About 4–6 weeks before your wedding, we’ll collect details (family dynamics, shot priorities, timing, and vendor info) so we can photograph the day smoothly.

Wedding Day Photo Priorities

These are the moments we focus on capturing thoughtfully throughout your day:

  • Getting ready details + candid moments
  • First look and/or pre-ceremony portraits
  • Ceremony key moments (processional, vows, rings, first kiss)
  • Family formals + wedding party portraits
  • Reception highlights (entrances, toasts, dances, candids, party)

Tip: If you have must-have family photo groupings, send them in advance so we can move quickly and keep things stress-free.

Timeline Guidance (First Look vs No First Look)

With a First Look

  • Portraits done before ceremony
  • Less stress + more time together
  • You attend cocktail hour
  • More variety in portraits

□ Learn more: Should you do a first look?

Without a First Look

  • More portraits after ceremony
  • Can reduce cocktail hour time
  • Requires a tighter timeline
  • Needs firm family photo organization

If you choose no first look, we’ll build a plan to keep the day flowing smoothly.

Simple Tips for the Best Photos

  • Window light is best: Getting ready near a window makes a big difference.
  • Keep the room tidy: Move bags, food, and clutter out of view if possible.
  • Build in breathing room: 10–15 minute buffers reduce stress.
  • Trust the process: You don’t need to “know how to pose.” I will guide you.

After the Wedding: Sneak Peek + Full Gallery

  • Sneak peek: typically within a few days to one week
  • Full wedding gallery: delivered about 3 weeks after your wedding
  • Gallery sharing: share with friends + family, download, and order prints

If you ever have questions about your delivery timeline, reach out anytime.

What Our Clients Are Saying

Pictures were one of my top priorities for my wedding. I spent a lot of time reading through photographers and even contacting some. I was also pretty nervous, I had never been professionally photographed before. Crystal and her team were SO easy to work with and immediately took away the nerves. I trusted her completely and I am so happy I did. Cannot recommend enough!  Ellen - Yorktown VA

If you're looking for an amazing photographer who is relaxed, has experience, and knowledge look no further. Crystal took our engagement and wedding photos. Not only were her photos amazing, but she is extremely responsive to messages and will even help you when planning your big day. It was important to us to work with a photographer who has experience with same sex couples, and Crystal and Casey did a great job capturing everything for my wife and I. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. - Emily - Nellysford, VA
