Tips for Capturing Candid Moments on the Wedding Day
In addition to traditional posed portraits, it's important to capture the special moments and emotions of the wedding day.
Here are some tips for capturing candid moments on the wedding day:

1 Ask your photographer to be discreet: The best candid shots are the ones that are taken when people don't realize they are being photographed. Make sure to ask your photographer to be discreet and to capture the moments without being too intrusive.

2 Give your photographer access: Give your photographer access to the important moments of the day, such as the bride and groom getting ready, the first kiss, and the first dance. These are all important moments that should be captured.

3. Capture the emotions: Make sure to capture the emotions of the day. Look for subtle expressions and reactions that show the true feelings of the couple and the guests.

4. Have a plan for the reception: The reception is a great time for candid shots. Have your photographer stay near the dance floor and capture the guests dancing and having a good time.

5 Don't forget the details: Candid shots of the details of the day are also important. Look for small moments that show the little things that made the day special, such as a special toast or a funny moment.

What Our Clients Are Saying

Pictures were one of my top priorities for my wedding. I spent a lot of time reading through photographers and even contacting some. I was also pretty nervous, I had never been professionally photographed before. Crystal and her team were SO easy to work with and immediately took away the nerves. I trusted her completely and I am so happy I did. Cannot recommend enough!  Ellen - Yorktown VA

If you're looking for an amazing photographer who is relaxed, has experience, and knowledge look no further. Crystal took our engagement and wedding photos. Not only were her photos amazing, but she is extremely responsive to messages and will even help you when planning your big day. It was important to us to work with a photographer who has experience with same sex couples, and Crystal and Casey did a great job capturing everything for my wife and I. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. - Emily - Nellysford, VA
